FLAW- I can handle this myself
LAW- I need a friend
This morning I called a trusted friend and voice in my life, tripping over which problem I should start with because one connected to another, one fed the other, and one prompted another. It was a mess and I was a mess… In my friend’s calming and reassuring way, she said, “𝒟𝓊𝓂𝓅 𝒾𝓉 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝑜𝓊𝓉. 𝐼’𝓁𝓁 𝓈𝑜𝓇𝓉 𝒾𝓉 𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑒𝓇.” I didn’t need to be told twice. I poured it out like I was the water in one of those buckets you see hanging over door frames, waiting on the victim of a prank to walk under it. In essence, I was the water but I was also the victim, startled by how much was being dumped on me, shocked by the frigid temperatures of what I had been feeling, and confused by the unexpected jolt of it all. 𝒜𝓈 𝐼 𝓅𝑜𝓊𝓇𝑒𝒹 𝑜𝓊𝓉, 𝓈𝒽𝑒 𝓁𝒾𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓃𝑒𝒹, 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓌𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝐼 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒾𝓈𝒽𝑒𝒹, 𝐼 𝓁𝒾𝓈𝓉𝑒𝓃𝑒𝒹 𝓌𝒽𝒾𝓁𝑒 𝓈𝒽𝑒 𝓅𝑜𝓊𝓇𝑒𝒹 𝒾𝓃𝓉𝑜 𝓂𝑒.
It was such a sweet time of refreshment and reminders, of things I had forgotten or no longer believed. There’s just something about a friend, and I wanted to share with you some of what she reminded me of because if you’re anything like me, you might be tired and a little forgetful, or just too plain stubborn to not let the setbacks of life be bigger than the triumphs.
So, here are a few reminders, from my friend to you, if you’re feeling down or a little bewildered or defeated:
1. Don’t forget who you are.
2. Walk in your authority.
3. Tell the devil he can’t have this.
4. Lay claim to what’s yours and don’t let go.
5. Know what you’re called to and have the confidence to do it, no matter how (un)confident you feel.
6. Care more about what God thinks than man.
7. If the devil is attacking this hard, you must be on the cusp of something extraordinary.
8. Move out of your comfort and into the change.
Friends, it’s been a rough season, and it might just be that winter will hold on a little longer than any of us want it to. What I want us all to be convinced of, however, is that it can’t have us. Any of us. We need community in the context of faith, standing shoulder to shoulder and eye to eye, not allowing any of us to forget that we were made for abundance. Anything else was not in the plan. Real friends remind you of that, and I’m so grateful for mine. This week on the podcast, we'll go deeper into the wisdom my friend spoke into me, and how if there was ever a time for us to believe and embrace it, it's now.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
PRAYER OF THE WEEK
Lord, thank You for friends who let us dump it all out, uncensored and unfiltered, while they sort our chaos into order. We pray courage and refreshment for all those who are feeling tired or discouraged right now. Send them a friend who will pour into them, and remind them of who they are - strong, destined for purpose, and made for such a time as this! Amen.
See you Friday!
